We are honored to have one of our most meaningful residential projects featured in the January issue of Vero Beach Magazine.

Titled Her Story, the feature chronicles the complete transformation of a 7,000-square-foot South Beach waterfront residence, seamlessly blending contemporary coastal living with a deeply personal family narrative.

Originally built in 1995 by the homeowner’s parents, the residence entered a new chapter when their daughter undertook a comprehensive transformation following their passing. DBID led the comprehensive renovation to create a residence where architecture, interior design, functionality, and personal storytelling converge.  

DESIGNING AROUND LEGACY

What made this project especially meaningful was its connection to family heritage. Throughout the home, meaningful heirlooms, artwork, and collected treasures were woven into the design narrative, creating spaces rich in sophistication and deeply personal meaning.

Inspired by the homeowner’s family history and her mother’s love of design, the residence honors the past while embracing a new chapter for modern living.

GLOBAL SOURCING, CUSTOM CRAFTSMANSHIP

Materials and furnishings were sourced from around the world, including Italy, India, Brazil, Turkey, Germany, and across the United States.

Highlights include:

– Exotic Italian marble throughout key living spaces
– Custom Italian cabinetry and millwork
– Hand-loomed rugs crafted in India
– More than five shipping containers of custom furnishings, lighting, marble, and specialty materials were coordinated and delivered to bring the vision to life.

A CURATED HOME WITH A PERSONAL STORY

Significant architectural modifications improved circulation, enhanced natural light, and strengthened connections to the surrounding waterfront views.

Art, family heirlooms, and collected objects were thoughtfully integrated throughout the residence, resulting in a curated home reflecting the homeowner’s personal journey and enduring design principles.
